Where to Stay in the Waipara Wine Region

Waipara Accommodation

The Waipara wine region is wonderfully compact, yet surprisingly diverse, and makes a great base to explore North Canterbury with a few accommodation within the wine region itself and the nearby town of Amberley. From Waipara it is an easy day trip to Hamner Springs (hot pools), Christchurch, or to visit one of the many small country towns.

Waipara Sleepers

Waipara Sleepers Accommodation, Waipara

If you are looking for something totally quirky and out there, and you are on a budget, then this could be the perfect place to stay. It is very much a back-packers, and as such, comes with a shared communal kitchen and a shared shower and toilet block, however the rooms are all private, in fact they are individual railway carriages. Each carriage has a desk, TV, double bed, fridge and kettle to make hot drinks. Quite basic but for the right traveller, a fun place to stay.
